Play Rangers

Play Rangers at Ashbrook School

Our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative is dedicated to transforming the outdoor play experiences for our children. With the belief that outdoor play is crucial for physical, emotional, and social development, our Play Rangers are at the heart of this initiative.

Who Are the Play Rangers?

Play Rangers are passionate and supportive individuals who encourage the children's ideas, creativity, and collaboration during outdoor play. They create an environment where children feel safe to explore, imagine, and engage with their peers, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

What Do They Do?

  • Support Ideas: Play Rangers listen to the children's ideas and help bring them to life, whether it's building a den, creating a nature trail, or organising a group game. In our OPAL play assemblies the Play Rangers contribute to idea gathering and sharing.
  • Encourage Creativity: Through various activities and resources, they inspire children to think outside the box and use their imagination in play.
  • Promote Collaboration: By encouraging group activities and cooperative play, Play Rangers help children develop essential social skills and learn the value of teamwork.

Our Commitment to Outdoor Learning

The OPAL project ensures that outdoor play is a core part of our curriculum. We believe that when children are given the freedom to play and explore outdoors, they develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
