International Day 2024
On Friday 17th May, Ashbrook School hosted an International Day Fair. The children from across the school made their own passports and brought these to the fair before travelling around the world visiting countries represented. Parents and staff volunteered on our stands with lots of countries included.
We had stalls from Greece, China, Turkey, United Kingdom, Tanzania, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, The Netherlands and Belgium. Children joined in with games, traditional crafts, baking, food tasting and lots of exploration of traditional objects from around the world.
Celebrating the diversity at Ashbrook is at the heart of our vision. This event was especially meaningful for the children as they were able to make links between their own cultures and traditions.
Highlights of the day were children gasping with excitement as they entered the hall, looking up and spotting their own flag hanging. “This was the best day ever” said of of our Year 2 pupils.
